Sparks Lake Activity Center is not being built simply as another venue. It is being rebuilt as a long-term investment into families, community connection, recreation, events, and the future of Nacogdoches and East Texas.
At a time when theaters have disappeared, bowling alleys are closing, and fewer places exist for families to gather together, SLAC is working to create something different — a place designed to bring people back together.
Across East Texas, families have watched many longtime gathering places disappear. Movie theaters have closed. Bowling alleys are shutting down. Community recreation spaces have become fewer and fewer.
For years, families have had to travel farther away for recreation, events, sports experiences, and safe places to spend time together. Young people need more positive environments. Families need more opportunities to reconnect. Communities need places that feel alive again.
Sparks Lake Activity Center exists because there is still a need for places that bring people together.
A destination where families can gather for sports, events, celebrations, recreation, and future attractions designed for all ages.
Festivals, vendor markets, celebrations, local events, walking tours, sponsorship opportunities, and public gatherings connected to the Nacogdoches community.
Recreation, sports, activity programs, mentorship opportunities, and positive environments that help future generations stay engaged.
A growing destination tied to Nacogdoches tourism, Sparks Lake Resort, community events, and future East Texas experiences.
Warren “Ralph” Sparks is not building SLAC simply to own another property. He is investing into a long-term vision for Nacogdoches and East Texas.
Through Sparks Trucking, Sparks Lake Resort, and Sparks Lake Activity Center, the goal has always been bigger than business alone. The goal is to help create places where people can gather, families can reconnect, and the community can continue moving forward together.
Ralph understands that many local gathering places have disappeared over time. Instead of watching that continue, SLAC is working to build something new — something family-oriented, community-driven, and designed for the next generation.
This vision is not about replacing the past. It is about helping create a future where East Texas once again has destinations people are proud to visit and support.
Sparks Lake Activity Center is being built for local residents, the city, the community, families, visitors, and future generations. Nacogdoches has strong tourism, deep history, and a growing need for family-oriented places where people can gather, celebrate, participate, and belong.
Donations, sponsorships, partnerships, and community support help move this vision forward. The future of SLAC should belong to the people who live here, visit here, support local business, and believe East Texas deserves something special.
Full-size gym events, tournaments, game nights, livestream experiences, and future sports programming.
Indoor and outdoor weddings, receptions, celebrations, reunions, and venue experiences.
Walking tours, family activities, outdoor recreation, future attractions, and property experiences.
A place where local businesses, tourism, families, and the community can grow together.
SLAC is still growing. The vision is still being built. But the goal is clear — to create a place East Texas families can once again gather, celebrate, participate, and enjoy together.
