The SLACNAC name represents the growing vision behind the property — creating a future destination for community gatherings, sports, weddings, tourism, recreation, family experiences, events, and East Texas entertainment opportunities in Nacogdoches, Texas.
The shorter “SLAC” identity comes from Sparks Lake Activity Center and is used throughout the project for sports, events, registrations, tournaments, tourism promotion, and future branding.
SLACNAC is also being used as the secure online portal for reservations, event requests, registrations, ticketing, vendor applications, sponsorship opportunities, and future Stripe-powered payment processing connected to Sparks Lake Activity Center.
Sparks Lake Activity Center is a growing community destination in Nacogdoches, Texas focused on sports, gatherings, events, tourism, recreation, weddings, walking tours, vendor markets, and future East Texas family entertainment.
The long-term goal is to create a place where families, visitors, businesses, students, and the community can gather together again.
Nacogdoches has lost many longtime gathering places over the years. Theaters disappeared. Bowling alleys are closing. Recreation and family entertainment options have become more limited.
Sparks Lake Activity Center is working to help fill that need by creating a family-oriented destination focused on community, tourism, sports, recreation, events, and future experiences for East Texas.
This project is designed to help bring people together again.
Right now, the primary active facility is the indoor gymnasium and full-size basketball court building.
The outdoor property is currently mostly undeveloped bare ground while future improvements continue growing over time.
